Flush-mount pushbuttons create modern control panel designs
Harmony pushbuttons and buzzers from Schneider Electric are now available from RS Components. The distributor has announced availability of more than 150 new lines of flush-mount pushbuttons from the Harmony XB5F range from Schneider Electric. They are designed for control panels for modern designs of panel, machine and maintenance panels.
The pushbuttons and buzzers are aimed at a selection of industrial applications including in the chemical industry, food and beverage production, packaging industry, automotive industry and building automation.
The range has particularly been designed to meet the performance requirements of machines and electrical control panels in harsh environments and is compliant to IEC and UL international standards.
Featuring IP ratings of IP66, IP67, IP69 and IP69K, and extended temperature ranges from –40 to +70 degrees C, the XB5F range has also been improved in terms of mechanical endurance and shock resistance characteristics, says RS Components.
As well as offering increased performance across the Harmony range, the latest devices also include an evolution in aesthetics. It benefits from a redesign for a more modern look and feel. The XB5F range is available in a plastic body version and is offered in a vibrant colour palette, including new blue and green caps for non-illuminated functions, to deliver a highly contemporary appearance to machine control interfaces. The products are robust and offer a pleasant touch for operators, adds RS Components, enhancing the perceived quality of machines and panels without significantly increasing costs.
In addition to the XB5F range, Schneider Electric has also introduced a new series of illuminated buzzers, which target deployment in operator alarm systems and have been designed for mounting on a control panel in a standard 22mm panel cut-out. The IP69-rated XB5K range of buzzers is available in illuminated and non-illuminated options and in a choice of two colours, red or amber. The devices operate from 24 or 120V AC/DC or 230V AC. They offer dual alarm capability with sound or light systems that can be either continuous or intermittent, depending on the system wiring.
All the new Harmony range of control-panel pushbuttons are now shipping from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
